Batman Begins might be the better movie, but The Dark Knight is a game changer. Is Heat meets Batman and there are sequences that are top notch filmmaking for me.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Ledger does a superb role, and the movie is well made, but even in the cinema I found it too predictable. It always does exactly what you would expect. Decent movie all in all.

TDKR is a weird movie. Probably the worst of the actual good ones.

I thought the Harvey Dent storyline was kind of counterintuitive.
Agreed.

the whole sequence of them getting Joker is oustanding and at the same time, it feels so close to a lot of comics books.

Batman going for Joker, this one shooting him, Gordon coming unexpected...so good.

I still don't understand Gordon's secret plan. Why did he need to pretend to be dead? He knew someone was going to shoot him?

It's not a good one at all. It's one of the worst sequels ever.

Do you think we would view it differently if Steven Seagal were in it?

this is how I feel about it rn

Gotham has no personality, it just feels like any American city; I need much more stylistic filmmaking, give me Gothic and give me Art Deco, give me Reeves!

it's got some great sequences but a LOT of boring corporate drama before we get to them

Heath Ledger runs rings around literally every other actor on set

idk, I'm not a big "action movie" fan, I'm gonna need horror thrown in the mix to be convinced I'm really watching Batman (atm my favourite Bats is "Returns")

I just watched a clip of Paul Dano's Riddler being interrogated and trolling Batman, and I honestly haven't smiled like that since watching vintage X-Files creeps fuck with Mulder

The editing kills those Nolan movies. Relentless, unnatural. The last time I revisited them I was kind of shocked

Also the cheesy dialogue and Bale's Batman voice.

Why are you spoiling the movie for yourself by watching clips? Please stop!

I had no problem with Bale’s Batman voice, and thought he was a fantastic Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Sitting in the theater now. Pray I don’t fall asleep.
