Definitely wear something that will make you feel like Batman while you're leaving the theatre. Really added to the experience for me.

AMC to charge more for tickets to “The Batman” than other movies in a pricing experiment.

Not really a spoiler, just a complaint about one little thing:
Spoiler: show
Both times the movie played Something in the Way, the Batman narration was speaking while the lyrics were going. Maybe because it's a song I know well, or maybe the song wasn't quiet enough, but I found it really hard to listen to the Batman narrating. I could hear the words, but my brain couldn't break from trying to listen to the lyrics and sing along

Spoilers below. I refuse to use tags post-release for the sake of thread readability.

I unabashedly love it but it’s definitely not a perfect movie. It falls into a bit of a lull about halfway through when it starts to pivot away from its emphasis on detective work. The focus on the detective aspects of Batman's character made for a really compelling first hour or so. (But him spray painting clues on the floor wasn’t great.)

It is nearly impossible not to think of Ledger (or even Paul Sunday from There Will Be Blood) when Dano goes full nutso during Batman’s interrogation. But, overall, he was great as was everyone else in their roles. (Although I think I need another watch to settle my opinion on Turturro. I love Turturro; I'm just not head overs heels in love with the casting.)

Penguin's makeup is astonishing.

The actor playing the chief of police was not great, not terrible.

Inject the Batmobile’s engine noise directly into my veins.

Loved that this was Year Two (or Three?) and not another origin story. His interactions with the GCPD were great.

I think it was a mistake to include Joker and his Cletus Kasady/Woody Harrelson hair. Let the movie stand on its own without requiring us to look ahead. And, moreover, let’s retire Joker for a while. If you can make the Riddler work, there is no shortage of viable villains in the menagerie to choose from. (Opposing caveat: I could be very happy seeing them adapt The Killing Joke in a sequel.)

Giacchino nailed it. Outstanding score. I also want the music from the club. (Edit: the one song I want, Tesla by Corvad, is not available in the US iTunes store. WTF.)

In spite of my Joker comments, I want a sequel ASAP. And then bring back Bale for a proper Dark Knight Returns movie in 10 years.

I like the detective aspect, though I didn’t always find the story itself overly interesting. I thought it landed somewhere between slow and ideally deliberate, but I was never really bored.

I liked the simplicity of the action scenes and lack of quick cut editing. Thank God. Felt way more believable. I would have liked a little more of the Burton/gothic style but ultimately a minor quibble.

I enjoyed the cast overall and thought it did a good job of distributing screen time of the other characters.

I liked Pattinson in this role, and Batmobile chase was fantastic, but I snoozed through the middle. There was very little fun in this movie. My teens and I left depressed.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I'm sure they're just generally depressed.

I liked the first 45 minutes are so, but it could never really find its footing. The PG-13 rating hurt it. The length hurt it. The performances hurt it. Battinson was good as the Batman, corny as Wayne. No one really stood out, and I continue to dislike Dano.

All around not good, not terrible.

Just kind of forgettable.

For some reason I thought this was rated R. That's really disappointing.

Don't worry, it's plenty violent and dark, with a fair amount of cussing. There's a big debate going on now about whether it's too heavy to be PG-13. The rating is irrelevant

It's long, but well paced. There is only one scene I would snip out to make it shorter, and it's the one everyone else is complaining about
