Red Rocket.

Really enjoyed it. Simon Rex was fantastic, Bree Elrod (Lexi) was great too.

yeah i loved it. Need a rewatch. Rex is amazing...its a testament on how lousy the oscars are that he is not nominated.
I was starstruck with Suzanna Son.

I picked a random Paul Dano movie (I've seen Prisoners already) and it was this weird dark but sweet rom-com, "Ruby Sparks"; I liked it

I watched "Her" for the first time and it was OK; the twist was bittersweet, but
Spoiler: show
why not just be polyamorous and allow your AI gf others? what she said about the way she loves was like polyamory 101

I don't think most people can just choose to be polyamorous

Ruby Sparks was sweet from what I remember. Written by Zoe Kazan, Ruby Sparks herself. She's had an interesting career

I think it's way more than about "her" need to love others. It's about AI evolving to such a magnitude that humanity and all its petty needs and desires don't really matter anymore. Basically how we feel about ants. And that poor ant sure does get his feelings hurt. It's basically a prequel to Terminator or Matrix.

that may be true (for me it wasn't a natural orientation, though, it just made sense after a lot of trial and error), but writers / directors can acknowledge that it's a possibility that exists, and the film doesn't; it assumes "monogamy, or heartbreak"; a lot of "love triangle" plots could be made more interesting if polyamory was even acknowledged to exist in their fictional worlds

I really don't care for Dano. He's alright I guess, but is not my cup of tea. Maybe in the right movie he could work...
