Other than Pearl Jam, who else is there?

It's one of my favorites from the past decade once I finally got around to listening to it...they're insanely talented in pretty much all departments.

Between this and Cookie Mountain that's pretty much all I listened to for a large amount of 2010...I've always been a late-comer.

The Greatest-Cat Power
The Life Pursuit-Belle and Sebastian
Rather Ripped-Sonic Youth
The Eraser-Thom Yorke
Yellow House-Grizzly Bear
Modern Times-Bob Dylan
Living With War-Neil Young

Funny thing is that I really didn't care for that Sonic Youth or Belle & Sebastian album in 2006.

This was my list in 2006:
1. The Devin Townsed Band - Synchestra
2. The Decemberists - The Crane Wife
3. Jenny Lewis with the Watson Twins - Rabbit Fur Coat
4. Mastodon - Blood Mountain
5. Strapping Young Lad - The New Black
6. Hank Williams III - Straight to Hell
7. Witch - Witch
8. Nellie McKay - Pretty Little Head
9. Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
10. The Black Keys - Magic Potion
11. Motorhead - Kiss of Death
12. Neil Young - Living With War
13. Cat Power - The Greatest
14. Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam
15. Julieta Venegas - Limon y Sal
16. The Gathering - Home
17. Sonic Youth - Rather Ripped
18. Quasi - When the Going Gets Dark
19. Tilly and the Wall - Bottoms of Barrels
20. Rob Zombie - Educated Horses

That list is pretty close to how I would rank them now. There are some glaring omissions, though:
Joanna Newsom - Ys - I heard this album in 2006, but it took a couple years for me to really get into it. Now it might very well top the list.
Amon Amarth - With Oden on Our Side - I must have gotten this one in 2007. It would be near the top now.
Om - Conference of the Birds - Just got this one a couple years ago. Would be top ten for sure.

Albums I'm surprised I omitted:
Beck - The Information - I was a big Beck fan at the time. I guess this one disappointed me.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Show Your Bones - I suppose this album disappointed me at the time too.
The Roots - Game Theory - Pretty sure I liked this one at the time, don't know why it didn't make the list.
Tom Waits - Orphans - I probably skipped it because it contained some previously released material.

There was once a post about Beck here. I brain farted and confused The Information for Modern Guilt, which is infinitely better. Whoops.

Tool just announced some April dates down here, god help me, I'm considering attending the Adelaide show. I saw them in 1998 and they were great

(That's right, I didn't want to be the guy who begins the Tool thread on the new RM.)
