A Penguin spin-off show (staring Colin Farell) for HBO Max is coming:

The Penguin's rise to power will indeed continue after The Batman.
Just five days after the superhero movie's big opening weekend, HBO Max has ordered a spin-off limited series starring Colin Farrell's Oswald Cobblepot. Tentatively titled The Penguin, the DC drama "expands upon the world" established by The Batman director Matt Reeves.
"The world that Matt Reeves created for The Batman is one that warrants a deeper gaze through the eyes of Oswald Cobblepot," Farrell said in a statement. "I couldn't be more excited about continuing this exploration of Oz as he rises through the darkened ranks to become the Penguin. Will be good to get him back on the streets of Gotham for a little madness and a little mayhem."

He's really great in the film.
He and Kravitz are both standouts.

I haven't seen the movie, but the idea of a Penguin show starring Colin Farrell is definitely something I'd be interested in.

yeah, she was good. She nailed the tone of Selina in year one.epilogue wrote:Totally.VinylGuy wrote:im exited because he was so damn good and had so much fun with the character.

I wish the script had been more explicit with the sexuality stuff. But what Kravitz brought to the part was electric. I hope she gets her own spin-off show or film. I'd love to see Selina's adventures in Bludhaven.

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
i dont need the sexuality of Selina to be clear if its not a part of the plot or story. She was super sexy and dangerous. Thats the Catwoman i know.
I do want her to be more violent maybe in the next movie.

It very much IS a part of this story, though.VinylGuy wrote:i dont need the sexuality of Selina to be clear if its not a part of the plot or story. She was super sexy and dangerous. Thats the Catwoman i know.

It's not about "what they did" it's about their relationship.VinylGuy wrote:because of Annika? Im not sure what she did with her or not was important.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
She can be fluid (that would be great since that's what Zoe kind of intended and what the character has been in the past). But the movie seems to go out of its way NOT to talk about that.tragabigzanda wrote:I haven't seen this movie yet. But I find it interesting that people are anxious for the movie to make some definitive statement on her sexuality. Why can't she just be fluid/"figuring it out"? Is there a specific plot point that is notably ambiguous or confusing because of this?

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
nobody's sexuality needs to be part of "the plot" for it to be important to someone's character; if Catwoman isn't made canon bisexual, it doesn't mean she'll be without a sexuality; it just means that people will assume she's straight

Re: Movie: The Batman (Battinson)
i didnt assume anything. She seemed to like batman and really cared for Annika too. She called her baby so maybe was a romantic partner too.Ms Harmless wrote:you mean you want to assume she's straightVinylGuy wrote:i dont need the sexuality of Selina to be clear if its not a part of the plot or story. The important part for me was she cared enough for Annika to want revenge.
Was she having sex with her, in love, just friends? maybe yes ? who knows or care when the movie already makes the point that she was really important for her.

I care, so do lots of others; I care because I'm not straight and I enjoy empathising with non-straight romantic characters
