Im not sure if Im the only one, but i like light years better anyway, but i do like knowing where else they though of going with itharmless wrote:Yeah, I'd rather have a finished Light Years than an unfinished Puzzles and Games, any day of the week.Thejambi wrote:When they are drastically different I really would only want to hear it if its a clear and fully realized version and performance. I hate puzzles and games because I would like it more than Light Years but what we have is not all that "listenable" .

Alternate versions and demos enrich the experience for me. Sure production choices and take choices may seem bizarre but usually you can see why those decisions were made.
And I prefer the studio SoS and the finished Light Years.

From a creative standpoint, whether I like the end product better or worse, I enjoy seeing how a piece starts out and how it finishes. The path is what interests me when I get to hear both demo and finished trackLetMeSleep wrote:Alternate versions and demos enrich the experience for me. From the Pit:
"I've heard this song 30 times and watched the video numerous times. What I'm reading on multiple sites is: "I always loved you, held you high above too." But I don't hear that or see it. I hear: "I always loved you, of you I am all true". Anyone hear something different."
I found this, um....

It sounds like a clunkier version of LY with different lyrics.

It sounds like it would be the best song to come out of those sessions if we had a good finished version. It's Betterman meets given to fly plus that cool guitar part from ly

Re: New Song (9.19.13): Sirens
This came on the random play list this morning, and my wife pointed out that it takes no effort at all to imagine Elton John's voice singing exactly this song, without any other necessary changes.
Now I can't not hear it.

There probably isn't a PJ song that isn't true for.

This song could be an Elton John song with minimal to no adjustment. I wonder how many RMers would be clamoring to rush into OB and boldly sing its praises, if it was Elton's song instead of Ed's?
