I have to agree with trag. I've never understood Porcupine Tree's popularity. I put it in the same category as Blue Nile's Hats. The audiophile's love it but to me it sounds so sterile. I am sure when we get first full album by AI it will sound exactly like Blue Nile/Porcupine Tree.

I will never ever understand this guy's popularity. And he seems to be big with the audiophile/music snob set too. Just one of the worst singers performing some of the most boring music I've ever heard. Would not listen if it were the end times and it was the only album available. Pure garbage.

Eucalyptus is a Toronto eight-piece led by saxophonist Brodie West, and their style is a loungey, tropical-flavored jazz music. They have a new album coming May 13 on Telephone Explosion Records titled Moves. The band say that it's their longest release yet, and the first that they think of as a bonafide full-length (their 2012 debut, Eeeeeuuucaaaaaaallyyypppptus, was the previous longest, clocking in at 31 minutes). "Dust in the Wind" (not the Kansas song) is available for streaming currently on Bandcamp:

This sounds like something you'd hear in the come-back from an ad break in an OG 70's tv show like the Brady Bunch or something. But that's not a negative, its just what it kinda reminds me of. This is great.

Hip or just Australian. These guys are big down here for sure. I've never listened through a whole album but they have some killer singles.

A few years ago a good mate of mine died from cancer and his wife asked me to sort out music for the church service and the graveside. I asked his 3 kids (early 20s at the time) if they had any specific requests. The youngest said he didn't care, I could just play all Gang of Youths if I wanted and he'd be happy.

I put this on for him special that day.

This is fucking great!

Really enjoyed it. Great to be back in a venue/concert environment and the band didn't disappoint.
Setlist flagged a little in the middle if you're being picky, and i would've liked them to play longer now that they have 3 albums under their belt but I guess we get spoilt by PJ shows.

The setlist was very heavy on the new album (which was to be expected) and it was all performed well (band are very tight and talented, lots of switching instruments, but in live it is all about Dave, who flits between being very charismatic one minute, then completely unassuming. Funny guy too). The new songs are pretty much Dave processing losing his dad, but the shows seem to be very cathartic and celebratory rather than maudlin. Even what I would consider the 'headphone songs' translated well to being played live in front of a crowd (who were bang up for it considering it was a Wednesday evening).

Definitely catch them live if you can - they finished their UK tour at Brixton Academy this week and the photos on their socials looked great. They're destined to get bigger and bigger I think.

While I don't hate it - the new Muse single doesn't grab me like Won't Stand Down did. Waining hopes for this album
I am however super excited for the Placebo album out on the 25th - love all the singles so far
