Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
Very little comes out about the backstage politics in AEW, thanks to their co-opting of Meltzer and others, but there have been rumblings that the people that were there when it launched are getting pissy about losing their spots to people who waited to see if AEW was viable before they signed.

There’s also been talk that there is a push on Tony’s part to elevate some minority talents, which is an issue in wrestling as a whole.

That makes sense. I have been thinking about this too.numbers wrote:Very little comes out about the backstage politics in AEW, thanks to their co-opting of Meltzer and others, but there have been rumblings that the people that were there when it launched are getting pissy about losing their spots to people who waited to see if AEW was viable before they signed.

Watching the 25 greatest rivalries on the WWE Network. There’s good stuff here, but I do question some of the inclusions, and the ranking.

Sounds like Cody has signed. I can’t deny it makes me slightly interested in WWE for now.

Think Wrestlemania should be one stacked night. Can still do Smackdown Friday, NXT ppv-style tournament and HoF on Saturday, Wrestlemania on Sunday, and Raw after Mania on Monday.

I'm a big Cody fan, but I don't think it will be a game-changer. And i'm not confident he'll be used well.
Translation: I'll have RAW on in the background for awhile to see how this pans out.

WWE has never been so lost before. Just a few years ago they had some great angles, great matches, NXT was at its best, and now it’s all so meh. Need something big to turn it around. Too bad their tv numbers don’t drop more. Might wake them up.

I much prefer two nights for WrestleMania. It was way too long before.Anders wrote:Think Wrestlemania should be one stacked night. Can still do Smackdown Friday, NXT ppv-style tournament and HoF on Saturday, Wrestlemania on Sunday, and Raw after Mania on Monday.

Rampage was awful. On par with Dark Evolution.

WrestleMania should be one night, with a show no more than 4 hours. They’ve gotta stop worrying about getting everyone on the card.

Do you just hate a lot of matches filling up a show? I never really watch Rampage, but do typically have it on as it airs and I can see why you'd feel that way.Anders wrote:Rampage was awful. On par with Dark Evolution.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
I like and appreciate AEW and wrestling. I even watched Dark, Dark Evolution, Dynamite, Rampage, Impact and two WWE Network documentaries this week.lennytheweedwhacker wrote:Do you just hate a lot of matches filling up a show? I was entertained by the docos, loved Dynamite, liked Impact, and appreciated the two Dark’s for just some stuff I can see some stuff from, and fast forward through at least half.
From Rampage I expect at least an Impact quality broadcast.
MATCH 1: DARBY ALLIN VS THE BUTCHER - just found this pretty boring. A nothing match. Hardys came out for the save after the match, but no fists were thrown.
MATCH 2: RED VELVET VS LEYLA HIRSCH - from someone who watches some of dark - no interest in this
MATCH 3: MALAKAI BLACK, BUDDY MATHEWS, AND BRODIE KING DARBY VS FUEGO DEL SOUL AND BEAR COUNTRY - squash match. Not sure where they are going with House Of Black, but it’s not really hooking me in.
MATCH 4: KEITH LEE VS MAX CASTER - love The Acclaimed. Hope for more from Keith Lee. No personality in AEW so far. Highlight of the show, even if it was beyond obvious who would win.

Re: Official WWE/Pro Wrestling thread
Yeah, Rampage had a filler feel to it this week.
