His first answer was, "I don't know. The issues seems too complex, and I'm not transgendered," which was a damn good answer that more people need to consider giving.
:heartbeat:
I absolutely don’t know enough because I’m not trans gendered. But unfortunately issues like this sports one are not going to be solved by just trans people as it also involves cis gendered people as well.
Well sure. But I'm not sure what that has to do with B's kid's response.

Is this why my kid came home from school with a black eye?

This brings up a separate question, though. Is a 12 year old kid able to make that choice? My oldest will be 12 in six weeks, and she is definitely not transgendered (as far as we know), so I really don't know what it's like for others. All I know is that she does not seem old enough to make any decision yet which is this serious and life changing.
12yr olds DO make the choice to change their gender, but I'd think very few do, and even less take hormone blockers.

It's nice that we can have conversations about complex issues without resorting to screeching Bigot at people.

The defense presents evidence item #354 in the trial of "Is Ron Desantis a bigot?"

Probably 6,457 more to go before the next Presidential election.

We can also discuss transgender women in sports without purposefully misgendering them. Who are we? Bammer?

Desantis may be a bigot, or he may just be a politician. I don't know. That tweet is characterizing people who disagree with trans women participating in sports as bigots, which isn't true or helpful.

Also, I agree that Bammer misgendering her isn't fair and I said as much at the time.

As the governor of Florida, he shouldn’t be purposefully calling Lia a man. That seems to show he doesn’t recognize that someone can be transgender. There are, however, many people upset about this and I don’t think that means you’re bigoted. I consider myself very liberal and still can’t see how this new approach turns out well for women’s sports. Does anyone really deny that men are physically bigger and stronger than women? Does the transition process really negate that advantage when it comes to sports? Are these questions bigoted by nature?

Well, I'm sure as shit not going to sit here and write out my own opinions when there's a tweet that's pretty close to what I think.

I think the answer to the first two questions is clear in that trans woman are dominating and trans men are a million miles from even competing. To answer your last question I’m not sure if it’s bigoted but it does make me feel like an asshole.

20-year old Lia Thomas, his 6’1” frame, and his penis recorded the top men’s swimming time in three separate events at UPenn not 3 years ago. He was ranked 65th in the country among NCAA male swimmers in the 500 free.

Lia Thomas today is ranked 1st in the country among NCAA female swimmers in the 500 free.

About a month ago I was at the park with my kids. We bumped into a former preschool classmate who we hadn’t seen in about 6 months. We’ll call her Lisa.

Lisa was very much a tomboy when in preschool with our kids. They would even tell us sometimes “Lisa wants to be a boy.” We would just respond with something like “if she likes to do boy thinks that is ok” etc. She had long (girly) hair at the time.

Anyway when we see her at the park, hair is cut very short, fully wearing boyish clothes. I mean you would 100% think it was a boy. On the way home when the kids were asking about Lisa, and why does she look like a boy now, etc. we didn’t really know what to say other than “everybody is different and that’s ok and she it is still your friend Lisa.”

I was half expecting Lisa’s mom to tell us Lisa goes by Leo now. I mean yes she is only 5-6 hears old but it sure seems like she is going through it even at such a young age. So we were almost a little surprised when her mom said, about Lisa, “she was glad to see you.”

Anyway the point of the story, you are who you are and if Lisa feels like a boy, so be it. I’m no one to judge.

That being said people born as men should not compete in sports against women. It’s not fair.
