it made obvious things that were already well suggested (like Riddler's motives, "admiration" for Batman etc.); redundant

also I don't hate this Joker, but why can't he just be a dude who paints his face anymore?

That's what Joaquin's was, wasn't it?

I'm glad they cut it, too. A lot of what Joker says is frankly unintelligible, and the little I could make out spells out a little too clearly the main themes of the movie

It's got some good stuff going for it but I wasn't a fan. I haven't seen it since it first came out though

Yes, definitely. Especially if you are a fan of joaquin in general.

I'm guessing my take would be about where Jorge is at, but if I find it to stream for free I'll give it a go

I think the deleted scene makes me like the included scene better; there's no point in Batman visiting Joker to hear stuff that the film will tell us anyway, but a scene which shows that Joker exists in this universe (and so does the rest of the rogues gallery, Gotham is not safe yet) is a fun little Easter egg to inspire speculation going forward; I feel like Reeves deliberately avoided making it a post-credits scene because it's not meant to tell us "this is happening in the sequel"

It's a stretch that Batman would go to Joker to ask him about Riddler. They would have needed to set it up like:

Batman: Boy howdy, I sure do wish I knew more about the psychology of this Riddler fellow.

Alfred: Batman, old chum, have you ever seen The Silence of the Lambs?

Batman: Hmmm, that gives me an idea...

That's another thing. That scene is almost beat-by-beat the Anthony Hopkins / Edward Norton scene from Red Dragon, right down to the part where they get frustrated and are in the process of leaving but they suddenly stop as they're taunted by the other party (while out of focus) about how similar they are to the person they're looking for

Cool scene. As others have said, including it would've made the the cameo at the end acceptable. But keeping it also would've been a giant distraction in the middle of the movie. Moreover, I also don't buy that Bats would be visiting Joker for insight.

I think its a cool scene and I could def see Bats being desperate enough to visit Joker but it made sense to cut it.

What's the deal with those big rings around the prisoners' necks? Couldn't they just lift them off over their heads, or am I missing something?

(loved this movie, btw)
