I’m not trying to argue tree__’s point. Don’t try and make it seem that I am.

Seems that way to me, and I explained how I got there. You can't even explain how that was an insult.
I am not going to rehash Black women's lived experience regarding their hair to you (it's not my place), but I can stand by the stuff I've come across over time; beyond that, if your interest is piqued, I can suggest some of them to follow on your socials; they might be able to demystify some of your confusion

beyond that, I have explained that the joke had racial, misogynistic and ableist components

you've given me "but she's hot lol"

Yeah it doesn't surprise me at all, Breitbart used to have an entire section of their page devoted to "black on black crime," macphisto regularly makes these kinds of arguments--the fact that you didn't anticipate this suggests its own form of cherry-picking.
Ah. See there's the problem right there.

Brietbart. Macphisto. Not exactly good-faith representations of the party of conservative intellectual thought.

I believe you're conflating conservatism with racism. Shocking, I tell ya.

I posted three published articles from right of center sources when this question was asked a few pages ago and they got more or less ignored because they are an "exception" somehow.
I don't think you get to do a "no true conservative" take here when the editor of Breitbart held a position in the last Republican administration. "Intellectual thought" is doing a lot of heavy lifting to try to draw an arbitrary line of demarcation between the people you are happy to share a constituency with and those that you would rather not, but as long as "conservative" still describes people who vote for the Republican party, more or less, there are a lot of racist elements in US conservative thought.

The conservative response to The Slap is not a knee-jerk racist one like a few of you are suggesting?

I went to Coleman Hughes' account because he's Black so he's really the opinion I care about of the ones there

his next tweet is "both are wrong, obviously", which is not my view

you don't get to point to a Black person and say "see? not racist"; he doesn't count

that said, I disagree with a lot of those takes, and when I get more context, I see more of the old familiar conservative shit I'm used to

also, I didn't bring "knee jerk" racism into this; a lot of this is extremely deeply considered and thickly veiled in polite rhetoric; anything but "knee jerk"

His joke I reiterate was you look like you’re going to play G.I. Jane in a G.I. Jane sequel. What are G.I. Jane’s qualities? Is comparing somebody to G.I. Jane an insult in and of itself? This is my thought process. I do not know the history of black women and hair. I did not consider this when reading into Chris rocks joke because it is not a deep or profound joke. It is actually very simple and because I trust that Chris Rock is not a racist asshole trying to put down black women at the Oscars I assumeIt is irrelevant. But I will look into the black women and hair thing because now I am curious.

Dude... I've been trying to somewhat agree with you but at some point you'll have to concede it was about her hair.
