I'd be content with some fucker in here admitting that it was equivalent and calling the whole thing off

It wasn’t offensive. It was boring. The slap was next level offensive insanity.

CR probably should have fought back. People are going to be walking/rolling up to him for the rest of his life trying to reenact the slap heard round the world. He comes off looking like the good guy last night, but at what cost?

it really depends what it is, because "offense" isn't created equal; just like how you've all gone apeshit because I dared to utter the words "Chris Rock deserved it"

I mean Jesus Fucking Christ, it's amazing that nearly everyone here has demolished that opinion as completely outside the bounds of adult compassion and civility
there’s a reason that assault and battery are against the law and that you can be sued for those offenses in a civil court. there are no “it depends on whether the offender finds the speech offensive” or “he only grazed his cheek” (which creates a terrible slippery slope) exceptions.

I’m guessing most of this is motivated by you having a partner that also has alopecia, and that you (understandably) found Chris Rock’s joke offensive. But that doesn’t mean you can just batter someone for it. This isn’t the Wild West of justice.
it's anarchy!!! it's a slap now, what will be it be tomorrow?! the complete annihilation of our children!!

I will say, per usual, tree picked a weird hill to die on with the whole hot chick thing. So many different reasons he could have chosen.
