It is kinda funny watching the typical white liberal RMer try to wrap their heads around Harmless's leftist morality and ideology, as if it was the same as theirs.

"Why isn't he understanding that ____ is wrong?"

Because his entire moral framework, which admittedly is repugnant and uninformed, is utterly alien to yours. He isn't on your team.

It's usually best not to get in the middle when Mickey and Malloy and the other academics around here start in together

it isn't relevant to my reasoning here!!! that's what I'm saying!!! I thought I was being called a Stalinist even though nothing I've ever said on RM would actually back that up!!

The kind of discourse we're witnessing on this page is neo-Stalinist, which is good, actually.
my position is communist-adjacent; Stalinist? no
Your position is not "communist-adjacent" and this is a MLG joke that was not meant for you.
well, it is, but OK Mickey
It absolutely is not. Words have distinct meanings and being vaguely on the left in the interminable online culture wars--even declaring one's self "not a liberal," though the evidence for that is suspect--does not make one "adjacent" to a discrete and historically specific political position.
"I've only ever seen you in a few discussions and they were all online! there's no way you've thought about your politics beyond what my own eyes have seen!"
Your politics beyond this thread are entirely irrelevant.
I made a statement about where I stood politically as a whole, so no, they aren't; I get called an evil commie a lot, I thought that was what you were doing -- I was wrong; I'm not sure what else you want for the observations and records you're drawing up about me
Wrong:

my position on the political spectrum in general, is the full version of that
No one was talking about your general positions. Kind of narcissistic to bring that up.
I thought you were calling me an evil Stalinist (maybe because I said I don't think violence is always wrong), as many liberals and conservatives have in the past, as mockery; I thought you were being "narcissistic", so no, saying that in general I might be called a communist but nothing I've said here could be called "Stalinist" was something I'm OK that I did
"The thing that I just chose to do was good, actually" is a remarkable position to feel the need to take on a message board.

It's not ableist to say that so many folks need a refresher course in reading comprehension.

it's a bannable offense in a lot of online spaces (and would be if I modded one); I'm beyond caring what happens about it here
