Rock's career will skyrocket from this because "cancel culture" is fake

I think we can all agree Will Smith will suffer the real consequences of his actions.

Chris Rock is the victim, so no reason to cancel him.

I think he will continue to thrive. I was surprised when a friend of mine said she will never see a movie with him in it again, but don’t think many feel that way.

if any of us had done it, we'd have been escorted off stage by security guards; he didn't because he's a Hollywood A-lister

but he's definitely not done himself any favours in terms of public good Will towards him

I don't give a shit about it personally (though I also tend not to watch the kinds of movies he stars in), but I wouldn't be surprised if there are directors/producers who watched that--the slap and the, imo, self-aggrandizing and slightly nutty acceptance speech--and think, nope.

Yeah he's been living off of Bring the Pain and Bigger and Blacker for a long time. That shit was a long time ago. I can't think of anything he's done this century that was funny. This is a boon for him.

I don't even know if it will be funny, but it will definitely be interesting. Aziz Ansari's first post-scandal standup special was interesting, though disappointing and not particularly funny (his new one is better). Louis CK's first club shows after the assault allegations was very interesting and absolutely horrific.

Nah, he'll still bring in the money. Nobody gives a shit.
