I don't get why people love demos so much. This is a worse song than The Fixer.

it's not that the demo is great, but it sounds like it has potential to be a different (probably better) song.

On the one hand it's got that cool riff without the things that make the final version sound like the love child of a latter-day Foo Fighters song and a latter-day U2 song

On the other hand it sounds bad

Re-watching LOST and seeing Jack's journey really reinforces the darker themes/ideas of "fixing" that Ed talked about being at the heart of this song.
