Severance

This show is tremendous and scratches a lot of my genre itches. The less you know going in, the better. AppleTV+.

It has Christopher Walken; what more does one need?

I was worried this was related to the book, which is bad, dull, interminable, but it seems like it's not.

i had the exact thought before i saw the trailer. at least being related and/or an adaptation of the book. i don't remember disliking it.

I just wrapped up episode 5; it’s getting good, hope they don’t fuck this up.

As soon as my wife is ready, we'll dive into this show head first. I'm so pumped for it. I just need her on board.

for those who are all caught up...
Spoiler: show
i believed Mark's wife wasn't dead, but i didn't expect her to be with lumon. i mean, given his innie wouldn't recognize her, i wonder where her outie lives, or if she leaves the building at all.

Oh man, I thought I was caught up but I guess I was an episode behind?? My bad...

Either way, this is my favorite show currently on TV. Started a bit slow, but pretty unique and so, so interesting.

Haha, not your fault dude. I clicked on it! I thought I was caught up. I hadn't actually considered what you have in that spoiler, can't wait to watch the next ep. It's dark & weird in such a good way.

it's so good. and yeah, it definitely started slow. it felt like they weren't giving enough instant gratification, but once you're caught up the payoff is worth it...to me. i love all the characters, especially Dylan.

Great cast, and Dylan is my favorite character as well. Last couple eps have done a lot for his character arc, so interested to see what he does.

I saw a theory on Reddit speculating that her outie is in a coma from the car accident and her innie is somehow able to be conscious. Either way, I'm assuming she doesn't leave Lumon at all.

Yeah, I'm increasingly leaning in that direction based on what Cobel's (Patricia Arquette) been doing lately. She clearly has some past family medical trauma and seems to want Mark and his wife to get back together and somehow heal those wounds. A successful reintegration may bring Mark's wife back to the outie land of the living. She probably wants the same for her "Charlotte," whoever that is. This is likely at odds with whatever Lumon is actually up to -- which I assume is a) mass market severance to increase profits, as evidenced by the woman who severed so she didn't have to deal with pregnancy and b) a nefarious backdoor to take over all human civilization.

The recap at the beginning of this new episode made me realize what I missed as far as what you guys have been talking about in the spoiler tags. This episode was fantastic. Show just keeps getting better and better. Can’t wait for next week.
