sometimes people get incredible amounts of shit every day, they get tired, and they break; it's not "polite", it might be subject to a warning by bar staff (though in the case of the man and woman, I'd hope both parties might be addressed); but it's cool, people are human, I get it

Two women are sitting at table in bar. It's late night, 1 AM. The women are having a very serious and private conversation. It's clear by looking at them that the conversation is private and serious. One of the women is teary-eyed. The other is holding her hand.

A man walks up and tries to talk to the women. He asks if they are okay and tries to sit down. One woman, the one not crying, tells him everything is fine and that they don't need anything. It's a private matter, thanks.

The guy makes jokes. Tells the women to smile. Offers to buy them a drink.
