five innocent Black boys (the Central Park Five) went to prison because vast swathes of white feminists accused them of raping a white woman; there's a LOT of innocent Black men in prison

white feminism has a lot to answer for and I count myself in that

that's more complicated than many would think; if Amy Schumer had a history of being racist towards Will, I wouldn't bat an eye; rich white women get away with too much crap (and in Amy's case, two self-admitted cases of sexual assault)
Incredible post
I know I throw around privilege theory a lot, but white women have a lot of privilege over Black men; it's not as simple as a sexism binary there
Do you think maybe one's individual success can alter a historical power dynamic? Say, is it possible in your mind for a black woman to have power over a white man?

I feel like a lot of people read my posts and imagine I'm working on "black and white" assumptions that I'm not

and yet, black and white thinking IS a devil on my shoulder (metaphorically) that I'm working on

I for one am excited to Ms. H to tell us more about some of the most famous instances of racial profiling in American history which were later turned into Netflix miniseries.

she might do on a financial / ecomomical level, not on a racial one

What are you implying by racial benefit? I mean, if she's already got more power, money, and social status, what is left here to include in the racial differential?

Btw we talked this over as a nation and decided that this was primarily Donald Trump's fault, so it's not okay to hit Amy Schumer because of the 1989 case of the Central Park Five, even if she (b. 1981) failed to speak up at the time.

racism; the poor white guy doesn't face it, and may perpetuate it; the woman is no less a victim for having money

racism; the poor white guy doesn't face it, any may perpetuate it
But what is even the potential result of his potential racism if she's already got everything and he's got nothing? Isn't this particular person, with social status, power, wealth, in the actual position to either perpetuate racism or not?

racism is discrimination based on skin color... if a white guy has no power over a black woman, how can he possibly discriminate?
