Bands like Rage, AiC and especially Nirvana continuously show up in pop culture for whatever reason. I almost never hear PJ or Smashing Pumpkins. For whatever reason they never really reentered public consciousness after the mid nineties, at least not in a big way.

Chili Peppers were always good at digestible, hooky songs.

For a decade, Foo Fighters have been solidly in that Default Rock Band position that Metallica once held. Generic, safe crap that corporations could always push when they needed a rock band.

There are 3 tunes that I’ve heard on the radio EVERY DAY when I’m in my car over the last week-and-a-half.

Creep- Radiohead
Nothing Else Matters- Metallica
Glycerine- Bush

Petition to get a Riot Act song in the Top 10.

it's going to take a lot of listens from each of us.

who's with me?

Part of it for Pearl Jam is the fading from the mainstream consciousness, but another really interesting thought is how often live versions of these songs are streamed since at some point their reputation as a live band supplanted their reputation as an album making entity. The question then too is how that dump of live releases have impacted their numbers which can only be measured perhaps comparatively in total streams versus individual songs.

Everything Zen, by comparison, is a 90’s musical dystopia. A hellscape of minor key guitar-and-gibberish. Cloud-to-ground lightning in the dumbdumb storm that is the consequence of our musical sins. Pretty rad.
