I'm so disappointed. Tired of carbon plates, energy rods and stack height
I'd say I'm tired of it too, but I've never tried a shoe like that. Plenty in the market out there for regular sub 9 minute milers like you and me.

Though this take from my man Robbe tells you everything you need to know about how the general shoe hype world feels about basic good shoes.
Let it be known– we’re not judging it. We love the direction Altra’s taking. There’s only so many people who want a clowny-looking toe box and a purely natural running form. That said, there’s a certain segment of die-hard Altra fans who are certainly going to be pissed at the creation of this shoe. But let’s be honest– Altra is now owned by VF Corp, a publicly-traded company whose top priority isn’t bending the knee to the Subaru-wielding, REI lifetime membership cohort. The base must expand, and creating more normative shoes moves that needle.
 :haha:

Now that I have an Apple Watch I have discovered that I run an 8 minute mile pace. That includes stopping to let the dog pee.

I cut under a stopped train twice tonight, that and the lingering knee weirdness killed my pace and it was only a 3.5 miler anyway.

Nah, it's pretty minimal. Just super precise and clean. Constant firmware updates are a huge plus too.

I haven't gone since Saturday. Slept most of the day yesterday and still feel pretty weak today. It's supposed to storm tomorrow so it will be Thursday before I can go. Not what I had in mind with this race coming up.
