He seems to be getting along really well with the other personalities on the team. He set up dinners with everyone on the team (in small groups) to get to know all the guys. He’s also off to a really good start. The Twins are gonna hit this year, that’s a forgone conclusion. It’ll be about getting enough pitching, as always. I’m just excited to watch every inning.

I wanted to pick the Tigers, but well . . . they're the Tigers. I think injuries catch up to the White Sox this year.

No Braves in the playoffs seems really unlikely to me. What’s your reasoning?

Not a lot of deviation in these picks, and mine would look similar. In the AL East I think 2-4 is a crapshoot, and I think the Angels could finish second not third, and I think the Cardinals could actually win their division.

Nothing other than things never end up playing out the way most prognosticators think they should at the beginning of each season. Look at the Giants last year.

it was a toss up between the Angels and Mariners for me for that division. And i have the cardinals winning the central. Damn them.

I feel like there's not a ton of bubble teams this year--it's mostly clear who the serious contenders are and who the basement dwellers will be.

Your fixation on that playoff drought is one of my favorite quasi schticks on the board.
