but forks and spoons just tools to help us eat. what about the type of food makes us switch to an entirely new way of consuming it?
and do you think they give out forks in to-go containers with american food in china?

It’s part of the experience. Also, eating sushi with a fork makes no sense.

Just use your hands for sushi. There's really no reason to use chopsticks. Knife, fork and spoon are objectively more useful.

Biological similarity of humans and other animals
Although humans and animals (technically “non-human animals”) may look different, at a physiological and anatomical level they are remarkably similar. Animals, from mice to monkeys, have the same organs (heart, lungs, brain etc.)

I have opposable thumbs that can utilize chopsticks. And my hands won’t smell fishy.

Re: Things You Don't Understand . . .
by the way, to what experience are you referring? the one where the delivery guy from the mediocre chinese restaurant gets buzzed up to deliver the sweet & sour or kung pao chicken that you eat that you wash down with a miller lite while watching tv? i get it; after all, it's like you're right there, in some village in the schezwan province surrounded by locals. a truly immersive Chinese culinary experience. give me all the chop sticks.spike wrote:It’s part of the experience
