For what it's worth, I get it.

Honestly, what else do you think they mean by "unique" in this instance? It's not that he's from the world of sports and they're from the world of music. The media has pushed the "Pearl Jam is friends with sports dudes!" angle ad nauseam since day one (Jack McDowell, Shawn Kemp, Dennis Rodman, Kelly Slater, Pete Sampras, Kerry Wood, Peter Gammons, Theo Epstein, etc.).

I think you're justified in being pissed off, harmless.
Cheers Lament.

It's the same old shtick time and again: rather than just an interviewer, he's a guy afflicted with a disease, who happens to be a "huge fan" who is having his life's treat, meeting PJ. The fact that he's an ex-football player and thus a sports celebrity is a footnote in this case. It's infantilisation. Mike is clumsy with his words, so I don't expect any different from him, but I'm far too used to able-bodied people talking about how great it is to be around disabled people because we are so "inspiring". That's great, Mike, but hopefully he's cool to be around just because he is? I'm talking about portrayal, because the media will always give you a version of reality, not the whole thing. And this is a formulaic one I'm very used to. It's a charitable narrative but ultimately not a particularly respectful one.

I'm getting all that from the phrase "unique relationship", I realise this, but I've had a lot of practise at reading between the lines.

Why would a grown man who wasn't on the team wear a baseball teams entire uniform? I can get wearing pieces of it. The hat. The jersey. The hat with the jersey. Hell, the pants with a different shirt. But the whole uniform?

::Cue people telling me I'm wrong and I'm out of bounds to think this is lame and I deserve to burn in Pearl Jam hell and I would wear an entire uniform of my favorite team if I had the chance and blah blah blah stop being mean to Ed wahwahwah...::

Weren't you the guy who said Ed shouldn't have been headbanging in the car to his own song? Jesus man, just let it go!

I don't see how being at something called a fantasy camp makes it any better, but if it does for others I can respect that.

I still have more of a problem with managers dressing up in full uniform.

"Fantasy camp." That's kind of a sexy phrase.

It's my fault that Sleeping By Myself is on the new album instead of Cold Confession, Let It Ride, and Of the Earth. Comments like mine keep us from having nice things. Without me it would have been a triple album that could only be described as Wish You Were Here mixed with Suburbs mixed with Sandinista mixed with Rust Never Sleeps, but funneled through the sound of No Code era Pearl Jam.

I check even though I don't trust myself to stay outside (as Chris Rock notes, men are only as faithful as their options).

So every time I check, and there is no leak, I feel a little bit relieved. My options remain limited.
We are still all in this together, regardless of how we respond to the temptation when it arrives.
I know this camaraderie will not last much longer -- possibly a few hours, possibly a few days.

So gentlemen, let me just say it has been an honor to serve with you.

Soon, you will leave me behind (at least until I get my Ten Club shipment), but know that a part of you will always be with me.

Now let us each ride the wave where it takes us . . .
Because youre actually Kat and/or Sea from the TC spying on us to see if we have the leak and if we do youre going to try to flex your non existent muscle....JK... :haha:

I wish Ed was currently aiming to create "funneled" music and not "fun" music.

Would ESPN describe the friendship between Kat and Sea as "unique"?

Leaked. Pendulum reminds me of Bauhaus or sisters of mercy. Very dark and bass heavy.

They made this album, but pulled it back when they saw the MindYourTanners account and replaced it with Lightning Bolt.
