spotfiy recommended this one: https://open.spotify.com/show/5mJq4a7j3 ... f3accf458a
it's dana carvey and David spade, talking to guests who've been or are snl cast members, and people who've hosted.
it's called Fly on the Wall.

I saw this come up the other day, too, but I forgot to add it to my list. Thanks for the reminder.dad wrote:spotfiy recommended this one: https://open.spotify.com/show/5mJq4a7j3 ... f3accf458a

I'm listening to the Jon Hamm episode now. It's not bad.tragabigzanda wrote:I've held back because I find Carvey as himself to be incredibly tedious. But maybe Spade helps balance it out?dad wrote:spotfiy recommended this one: https://open.spotify.com/show/5mJq4a7j3 ... f3accf458a

I would expect Carvey to do impressions. He is on this one.

Yeah this one’s great; I’ve listened to the whole series thus far.dad wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:Four eps in and I love this show so much. I’ve also been supplementing by listening to Carvey’s Fantastic! pod. I just can’t get enough of his impressions.

Currently listening to a 2019 episode of a pod called Weird Studies about William Gibson's novel Pattern Recognition. Really interesting how prescient that novel was.

Yeah, that's the one. Protagonist gets physically ill when she sees a logo. There's also an interesting plot point centered around anonymous found footage being uploaded to the internet and a forum devoted to discussing it.tragabigzanda wrote:never read it. Is that the one about the psychic marketing wizard? Such a cool premise. Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
So PJ Vogt has a new podcast called Crypto Island, eh?
I really haven't listened to Reply All since he left. For no particular reason other than it felt like the end of an era.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
Yeah same, but if anyone could find actual interesting stories from that world for me it would be PJ. I'll listen to the 15 minute intro episode just to hear his voice again then we'll see..
Hard to imagine PJ solo without Alex Goldman as a foil though.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
Okay just listened to the intro ep and fuck it, I'm in.tragabigzanda wrote:omg i can't wait for crypto-related content to just die
It promises to be a limited series, and sounds like it's a skeptical, amusing look at the bizarre underbelly of the crypto community in a voice that only PJ could use. In short, it sounds like a classic multi-episode Reply All reporting arc.
I've got some daunting tasks ahead of me today and a good headphone companion is just the trick to keep me focused.

The latest episode of 60 Songs that Explain the 90's is great. It's about ... Baby One More Time. And it might be my favorite ep yet.

Re: What podcasts are you listening to?
Sad to see this end, even if I lost touch after PJ left. Reply All was the first podcast I really fell in love with. They had so many good stories in those early years, and the rapport between the two original hosts was just the best. So it goes.
