Eddie Vedder - Earthling

When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

I can totally picture that working well
I was in Colorado last week skiing and put Invincible on at an opportune time. Ed belted "Better crooked than straight!" right as I rounded a curve and a couple snowy, 13,000-foot peaks came into view as the first chorus kicked in.
Damn bro. Didn’t even message me for a meet up?! Where’d you ski ?

And yes a number of tracks on this album work great skiing here !
I stayed in Breckenridge but hit Keystone and Vail for a day each, too.

I haven't been around enough over the years (or in the other forums where other sorts of topics come up) to really know where anyone's from, aside from stip since he seems to reference attending most of the same NYC shows that I've been at over the years (though in early 2020 we fled Brooklyn for Western Mass, and it's permanent).

I've forgotten most of this. Think I'll give it another shot soon.

What you doing in western MA? We were in Amherst for a few years. I’d move back to Hadley/Easthampton area in a heartbeat.

My wife grew up in Northampton and her parents still live here. We moved in with them temporarily in March 2020. But she has intense anxiety around health-related things, so Brooklyn/NYC in a health crisis of indeterminate length just wasn't going to work any longer. The plan had been to move up here 2021-ish anyway, but we sped it up by a year and bought a house in June 2020. My job from New York transitioned easily to remote work, so nothing had to change on that front.

I truly hope that the Earthlings go on tour again, I am pissed that I missed them the first go-round.

Haven't been able to get my 7-year-old daughter into Pearl Jam, but she does like Invincible, Fallout Today and The Dark. :)

I've never really gotten anything from Haymarket other than coffee and breakfast/pastry type items. And since we've moved up here we've gravitated toward other spots even for that stuff most of the time. I'll have to ask my wife if she's had it though.

The Dark is becoming one of my favorites. Anyone else get a ‘Friday I’m in Love’ vibe by The Cure? Specifically when the solo kicks in at the end :luv:

Pretty sure I over-paid for it at pj.com ($35 vinyl + $12 shipping) and ordered in February for a tentative July delivery.
As opposed to ordering the reissue of Ukulele Songs from Amazon at $ 25.30 total and arriving on May 13-16.

Just listened again and man, Rose of Jericho is moving on up for me. I liked it a ton, and now I kinda love it. The lyrics and the way they are sung recalls a younger, more urgent Ed.

(Ditto for Good and Evil but I don't like the chorus as much in that one though its bridge is A+)

Listened for first time today in three weeks

Fuck.

I had a moment with brother the cloud again.

This album rules. So much better than gigaton and I think that’s a pretty good album
