the first concert i ever went to was johnny cash..my parents took us kids..i believe i was 5 years old and loved a boy named sue....

Actually this has woken a repressed memory for me. I remember my folks playing records when they had people over. Johnny Cash was a big one. I liked 'A Boy Named Sue' and also 'Ring of Fire'.

Those predate Bowie for sure for me.

Michael Jackson - "Beat It"

I would sing this on the swingset. And by sing this, I mean repeat, "beat it, beat it" over and over again. Too young at the time to rknow/emember anything else from the song.

I also think it was Michael Jackson for me. Something from the Dangerous album I think. Maybe Black or White.

My folks had a holiday house about 100km up the coast from where we lived. My brother was 11 years older than me, my sister 9 and 1/2. I was very much a mistake. But I have great siblings - I love them both.

I remember one time driving up there with just those two - my brother just recently having his license and us three driving up to meet our parents. He played American Pie for us and I vividly remember sitting in the back seat, feeling so free, thinking how good is this. I made him play it 3 times over.

I just remembered that.
