I don't know if I like Stone more because he's more articulate than any of the others, or if it's the fact that he's the only one who looks like he's cringing when he's softshelling an answer.

I love what Ed says about being a present father, dammit. I guess I can let him have his four years between records now. NO WAIT. Oh I don't know. THE MEDIA IS SO POWERFUL AND I'M SO IMPRESSIONABLE.

I also like that Matt is drumming onto his chair while talking. Stone's hand movement is more new age

Matt is all like "Mind Your Manners" and Stone is much more "Sirens".Mirella wrote:I also like that Matt is drumming onto his chair while talking. Stone's hand movement is more new age.

That was a really good interview. Mike and matt pretty quiet though. Might be the best interview with ed I've ever seen.
I really wanna hear MFS. LEAK DAMMIT.
We've got the rest of the steve gleason one and the judd apatow one left yeah?
I liked the bit about his monument to reclusiveness.

Lol well if it was the other way around we'd have more music, but think ed was a douchebag dead beat.harmless wrote:I love what Ed says about being a present father, dammit. Re: Keep Harmless Company While He Waits for Lightning Bolt
Yeah, amazing. And that he developed it over decades. That's why the music got so deep and introspective and the pattern was so hard to break. But it's also why the records were so damn good; he was a practised recluse. He practised all his sins, never gonna let him win, aw-huh. So even if you'd love a return to those records (and many of us would), I really like that we finally (for the first time ever, for me) have some actual thoughts on why it changed.stupidmop wrote:That was a really good interview. this is a much better interview than the one with Carrie, I think.

In terms of the music, yeah. What I like is that eventually we'll have four (?) interviews from four different personalities, and each one will appeal to different kinds of people. But I thought this guy asked *all* the right questions, as if he's been browsing the forum...

Taking some time 'off' for work does not necessarily make a bad father. People working in offices or factories are gone for hours a day as well...stupidmop wrote:So wishing ed would write the kinda album I hope he would is now also wishing he was a reclusive weirdo and bad father. Damn it.
