My wife’s colleague was mid flight when the mandate was dropped. She said half the passengers and attendants removed their masks immediately. Too bad if you’re high risk and had assessed the flight as safe before boarding.

and because we've all agreed that masks, vaccines, and boosters are safe and effective, how exactly is this person at risk?

Sorry that you don’t believe something supported by repeated numerous tests, but surgical masks are effective at preventing bacteria/viruses from passing from one person to another. I’m sorry that your confirmation bias against this makes you susceptible to believing that one study that says differently wipes out decades of supporting information.

Bro come on. There are people with legitimate high risk factors if exposed to covid, and then there’s the rest of us (overwhelming majority). A patient laid out on a surgery table with their chest cavity gaping open is about as high risk as it gets. Anything foreign dropping in there (like a drop of saliva or perhaps a junior mint) could do major damage. So yes surgeons wear fucking surgical masks.
