One question about the first two eps:

Why did Lalo kill the friendly goat farmers? Just misplaced rage from what went down at his house? Or something else?

There was some nuance to what happened but it explains why investigators thought Lalo was dead

Lalo asks the woman how the guy was after his dental surgery and she reveals Lalo paid for it, which means he had a dental record match patsy. This is why he tells him to leave the stache and soul patch

That guy’s sole existence was to unknowingly serve as his dead body double in a situation like this.

When it showed the guy after his shave and Lalo’s face was right over his shoulder was a pretty big clue.

I didn’t catch the dental records match part. I just figured these were people who knew him and he didn’t want to leave any witnesses who knew he was still alive.

In hindsight, something felt slightly off to me about the conclusion to Nacho’s story. I think it’s the fact it didn’t come at the end of last season where it would have served as the final descent of the rollercoaster ride after the crest of the shootout. A season of tension built on tension built on tension that, because of the two year break, necessitated a resetting of that rollercoaster feeling going into season 6. Thus, it felt like we were only halfway up the first hill of that coaster when Nacho bit it.

Still amazing and powerful in all the best ways but it gave me faint echoes of The Walking Dead season finale where we first meet Negan after a season of incredibly effective buildup that gets flushed down the drain with a cheap cliffhanger. The subsequent season premiere landed with a thud to me as a result and all but killed my interest in that series.

BCS has started off like gangbusters this season and I don’t mean this as a major dig but I didn’t feel quite the same rush when Nacho died compared to past “big” moments of BB and BCS.

(Nacho looking relatively “fresh” also seemed odd to me. Aside from some dried blood on his face and stains on his shirt, there was no swelling, no rips in his clothing, and that duct tape gag seemed like something barely affixed so as not to irritate Mando’s face over the course of multiple takes versus what I’d expect from cartel henchmen. Why would he be in new clothes?)

Agreed. The BB/BCS writers room is usually pretty good at holding themselves to a high standard with the logic of everything. I wonder if this mild sloppiness is due to them having to break and write season 6 via Zoom.

These two shows have largely been immune to any nitpicking by me over the years and I certainly don’t enjoy my brain focusing on these things.

Guys, the very obviously wanted a cool shot of him emerging from the oil. I think that’s a silly nitpick considering the tanker gave him cover that hiding in a stand of trees wouldn’t. If I’m running from people tracking me, I’m going tanker.
