Tripped the breaker. After I finished I flipped the breaker back on but I don’t think the outlet was working. I’ll find out in the morning if the freezer is defrosted when they get to work I guess. I still can’t figure out why it sparked. The screw isn’t attached to any of the wiring or anything.
Sounds like it wasn’t grounded properly? Or the ground wire had come loose somewhere in the line? Maybe an exposed wire. Then the metal clips were charged, which charged the screws touching them. Tbh I’d probably have work pay for an electrician to check out that plug, could be a bammer lawsuit waiting to happen

The bar next to us got their safe stolen two nights ago. They didn't bolt it down I guess. Amateurs. Anyway, a camera of ours caught the heist on video and now the police are asking for the footage. I should hold out for a warrant and then "accidentally" download the wrong time frame, right? I ain't no snitch.

Is messing around with electrics something you guys do regularly in the US? I've seen a few posts over the years about DIY electrical works and can never understand why you'd do that.

Electricity kills people. Leave it to the professionals I say.
I've done a lot of the electrical stuff around the house.....mainly just re-wiring stuff. There's three (sometimes two) wires - how hard can it be?
