I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

There is a diver in our pool now for the fourth time trying to find a leak. Fingers crossed he finds it.

Is there a thread dedicated to mowing or is this one it? I have a lot of things I'd like to say about mowing.

How often do you switch up your pattern?

Same. Our yard consists of two big rectangle, so I alternate between mowing the long way and then diagonals in both directions.

I've never braved the diagonals. I'll go either north-south or east-west.

Today I conducted an unintentional experiment when some of the grass got too tall for the low blade setting I usually use. I left a six-inch line unmowed to mark my place, and then raised the blade one notch for everything to the left of that line.

I couldn't really tell a difference between the two cuts afterwards, but still ended up evening it all out.

I tried that once but it got a little overwhelming the closer I got to the center.
