best lyric to close an album
Companion thread to best opening lyric. If the album closed with the chorus I included the lyric right before as well
Ten: I'll wait up in the dark for you to speak to me. I'll open up. Release me
Vs: I will scream my lungs out 'till it fills this room. How much difference does it make?
Vitalogy: A truant moves on, cannot stay long. Some die just to live (shut the fuck up and make your own thread if you want stupid mop in here)
No Code: You're an angel when you sleep. How I want your soul to keep on and on around the bend
Yield: There's still time to escape. It's no crime...all those yesterdays
Binaural: Drifting away...
Riot Act To myself I surrender, to the one I'll never please...I still try to run on, but it's all or none.
S/T: Life comes from within your heart and desire
Backspacer: I'm here, but not much longer
Lightning Bolt: No resistance, no alarms, please this is just to good to be gone...I believe cause I can see our future days, days of you and me
Gigaton: Share the light, won't hold us down
I have some slightly arbitrary cutoffs here, but Release and Indifference really jump out. All or none has a pretty killer line right before the final chorus lyric, but that chorus lyric is a little clunky and undercuts it a bit.
Drifting away is a great final lyric for Binaural - straight and to the point.
I really like future days, but that's just a dud of a chorus.

Vs should be "I will scream my lungs out til it feels this room"

We are all entitled to our own opinions but not our own facts. And the fact of the matter is, Stupid Mop is the final track on Vitalogy.stip wrote:I admit that the world is full of intelligent people who believe silly things, and I can't control their posting.Norris wrote:liebzz wrote:Spanking. Ahhh, but the final track is not the same thing as the closer.Norris wrote:We are all entitled to our own opinions but not our own facts. Sadly, it requires a level of enlightenment out of the reach of most to understand this cosmic insight

They could have made it a hidden track but chose not to.

On any given day it could be Release, Insignificance or All or None.

Insignificance?
As much as I've come to reevaluate All or None this year, "I still try to run on but it's all or none' is not a good lyric. Good sentiment, but it is clunky and would benefit from a bit of wordsmithing.

Re: best lyric to close an album
I like it; the meaning to me is clear and I like the unobtrusive rhyme of "on / none"
