I understood it to be for off duty cops. Why do they need a spot for a crime call. They can stick their car wherever.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

Oh I see, there's five questions there:

Curbside pickup--Bad
Pregnant--Obviously bad
Police--Good, this shouldn't exist
Veteran--Neutral, this shouldn't really exist either, any handicapped veteran should get a handicapped spot and everyone else can walk.
Handicap--Bad
To be clear, bad as in it's bad to park there.

Against my instincts, I parked in the vet parking once when my father-in-law was in the car with me after he insisted. (He is retired Navy.) Sure enough, as soon as I got out, an older man saluted me and I didn't know what to do so I just nodded. Felt like a real Larry David moment.

Nah. They (most of them anyway) were willing to do something I am not for my benefit and the benefit of the country. If they want to get on a plane before the rest of us, let ‘em.

Unless you were born before WW2 then this hasn't been true during your lifetime (unless maybe you're a defense contractor)

You could say the same thing--more accurately, I'd wager--about firefighters, grade school teachers, and garbagemen. Lionizing vets is one of America's goofiest habits.

By all means, people who put their bodies on the line for the US military should have their healthcare paid for in full for the rest of their lives. I just don't think they need a special parking spot at the Chilis.

Surprised there aren't spots for teachers or first responders or whatever the hot cause is at the moment. Parking for Ukrainians?

I think you can park wherever you want in Kiev right now.

Those spots are reserved for the vets already.
