The feel is totally different, almost apples and oranges, compared to Gigaton. I would take Gigaton without even hesitation, but this album is pretty fantastic. Even though DotC and to some extent Superblood Wolfmoon took some chances, this one takes more, but the cohesiveness of Gigaton and strength in purpose of that album win the day - and I like the songs on Gigaton a bit better.

Re: Eddie Vedder - Earthling
my thing is, as much as I like Earthling, I hadn't spent years waiting for a solid Ed solo record (they are all good and I have next to zero investment in solo records); Gigaton being as good as it is, if not perfect, was about confirming I made a good life investment choice when I was a kid (let's be honest, Pearl Jam has done some crap but I've accepted that I'm a lifer now); it was and is pretty damn special

I enjoy it but there are a few I skip. I don’t really skip anything in gigaton. I’m more likely to listen to targeted individual tracks on Earthling, but I’d much rather do a front to back listen of Gigaton.

I think this is pretty close to where I'm coming down on it, too, though I haven't listened to any of it the last couple weeks. If I can find time, I'd really like to do a small review/run-through of the album akin to Liebzz's artist journey posts, so I should listen through again soon.bodysnatcher wrote:I enjoy it but there are a few I skip. Yeah, I wouldn't say I've returned to the record, but my top tier of material from it (The Dark, Try, Mrs. Mills) has definitely remained in regular rotation for me. I'd also say I definitely prefer Gigaton, though both albums definitely exceeded my expectations in a positive way.

Had I known a split color variant was in the works, I would've waited. Not buying two LPs.

I feel like hitching your variant to Ukraine is the most Ed Ved move ever. And I love it!

Is it a variant, though? It's the only version available on 10c.
EDIT: just caught this in their description:

So...do I cancel my Amazon preorder? Order this as well? Say screw it, since I already have a "fresh pressed" 10c version? All EXISTING OR FUTURE Ten Club Earthling Vinyl orders will receive Blue/Yellow vinyl.

Okay, so it's the 10C variant?
I've seen nothing about blue/yellow at other outlets.
