Hitting a home run instead of a triple in his final at bat would have cost him the cycle but would have been objectively better.

The cycle is a statistical anomaly, not an accomplishment. It's still neat when it happens.

Reds lost last night despite throwing a no-hitter. 3 straight walks in the bottom if the 8th for Pittsburgh followed by a groundout that scored a run.
