A coworker got me a pair for my birthday. I wore them once and they are almost too thick. I’ll probably break them out when it gets cold again.

if so, how did it feel?
It never occurred to me to try. Wouldn't you just get blisters?

honestly, i think i did once and it was years ago, but can't remember the outcome.

i stepped outside a few minutes ago, and slipped my hokas on without socks and it felt nice.

I have a thin pair of tesla baretreks I wear without socks. I use them specifically for trails. They don't need socks because they're nearly as thin as socks already, just with a more durable rubber sole. The idea is to feel barefoot with minimal protection from the elements. It's nice to feel the twigs and roots underneath, but I make sure to keep those kinds of runs short enough to avoid blisters.

For regular runs, I swear by the Saucony value pack of socks you can find on Amazon for super cheap. They're great compression socks that don't get drenched with moisture and the colors are all very cool too.

You don’t need your spine to run.

I ran in dirt across the fields next to the bayou with the ghosts of the Karankawas and the Akokisas today. Then I tweaked my knee a little.

Okay.

I think part of it is not knowing what strategy I want to try. My next race is a week and a half so I want to be intentional.
