It's beautiful, haunting, poetic and suitably ludicrous. Really glad I watched it in a theater, it's a movie that really benefits from immersion. Had a great time with this.

I gave The Master a second watch last night. It's a very well acted movie and obviously very well made, but I still don't love it. It's good and I enjoyed watching it, but there's definitely something missing.

I still haven't seen Magnolia and I have only seen a few once, but at the moment I'd rank PTA like this-

1. There Will be Blood
2. Licorice Pizza
3. Boogie Nights
4. Phantom Thread
5. Punch Drunk Love
6. Inherent Vice
7. The Master
8. Hard Eight

4-6 I need to watch again, so they could move around.

I wanted to love it Jorge, I swear.

I'd still give it a solid 4 bags popcorn.

I fully intend to. I'm just dragging my feet a little because it's the last one. I want to rewatch Phantom Thread, Boogie Nights and Inherent Vice first as well. I have a feeling Phantom Thread is going to jump up the list upon rewatch.

What enhances the Phantom thread experience for me is viewing it through a fairytale kinda lens

I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

I almost agree with Tom on The Master. I don’t know if I’d define it as something missing for me, but there is something that just doesn’t fully click for me as it does with you guys.

The final scene between Penn and Linney is so tough to watch.
I agree.

I was a big Road to Perdition fan back in the day. I’d welcome a rewatch.

If I recall correctly it just continues falls apart as it goes because I seem to remember really enjoying the set up.

Really enjoyed it. Probably even slightly more than I did when it was new.
