That would be the democratic thing to do. Tree should probably be banned for sharing the contents of a PM.
Has that been discussed yet?

You could type “slut” into the search box and probably find it pretty easily.epilogue wrote:Likely, I don't recall this particular incident so I could be wrong, it had more to do with previous warnings and last straws than the post itself. Sure. But again, we're talking about context. To be fair, bitching about the mods on a message board is a fairly new concept that hasn’t been around too long

Well, that's certainly true. And I've largely avoided doing so. But tree has asked some good faith questions. And while I know full well Reid is probably trolling too, he's also asking questions that might benefit others. So I'm going to pursue those in good faith, too.JuanHamm wrote:I admire your commitment to this unpaid job, but trying to engage with Burt, Verb or Mac in good faith is like pissing in the wind.epilogue wrote:I knew full well what I was doing. Re: Why was Stoner's thread deleted?
You're the newest, but your mod approach falls in line with the modship in general. I'm talking about shaking it up and sharing the mod robes with people who don't see the world the same as progressives like you, B and of course Ruddo. We don't need macphisto or anything on there, but probably trag or bodysnatcher would be a good place to start looking if you're curious about what kind of mod I'm talking about.epilogue wrote:I'm all for adding new/different mods.washing machine wrote:Perhaps, and I'm being completely serious here, what this community needs is to add a fresh batch of mods of a different mindset to balance out this clear risk of unilateral gatekeeping.epilogue wrote:No one flagged a post or issued a formal complaint to me.washing machine wrote:I didn't read the thread, but was there a complaint or something, or just your own judgement?epilogue wrote:Many posts violated community standards. But keep in mind that the point is to moderate the forum. Mods are here to uphold rules and community standards. Also, keep in my mind that I'm the "newest" or "youngest" mod. So that seems to fly in the face of you point about new blood. The issue seems to be that you don't like mods who do their job. Fair enough. But it's still the job we agreed to do.
I absolutely do not mind if mods do their job, but in my mind that job is technical board maintenance/admin stuff. Moving threads. Pruning second account/bot spamming. That's pretty much it.
In this particular instance, and based on all of your responses so far explaining your modding (ty by the way), this is how I see that things went down:
1. A thread was started about porn quotes.
2. Things got questionable? The word "slut" was thrown around? Yet no one complained.
3. You decided to delete the thread when no one was looking and had no intention of explaining it until
I can see the need to edit/censor when there's a complaint. Or if kids read this board. Or if you were trying to get the board ready for a big corporate sale to pearljam.com and need it to look clean and professional. I think you overstepped, that's all. Doesn't mean I don't want modding to happen, though I do enjoy making it difficult sometimes when I intentionally try to make you merge or move a thread about bagels/donuts.

Re: Why was Stoner's thread deleted?
I sincerely appreciate this post. I'm not trolling in this thread. I think this is a valuable discussion the board needs to have from time to time. I mean this in the best way possible, but I want to try and make it clear that I respect the mods as people but do not always respect the modding decisions.epilogue wrote:I knew full well what I was doing.
