I hardly ever use salt anymore. Just water and oil with towel. Every now and then I’ll scrape it with the scraper.

I would never get in a relationship with cast iron. So high maintenance.

Not in the oven. I just clean it then coat it with a thin layer of oil before putting the lid and cover on it until next use, as it stays outside

Does stainless steel get as hot as cast iron? Because you need a damn hot surface to get the best crust on a smashburger.

I boil oats and leave them overnight, but before I do the dry oats get toasted on either a pan greased with coconut oil or else a seasoned cast iron. The cast iron especially locks in some nice roasted flavor to play around with.

What do you cook on it? I’d be worried it’s not enough if you’re doing a lot of meat or fish.
Everything. Meat, fish, potatoes, eggs, chicken, cornbread…

his isn't a large plate, which i'm guessing yours is. he just coats his with vegetable oil and puts it in the oven.
