Say what you will about James Corden, but these videos he does with Tom Cruise are great.

Re: Top Gun Maverick
It’s great but is completely contingent upon Tom Cruise dominating almost every frame. Calling it “Maverick” is completely appropriate in the literal sense.

I felt this was going to be the crux when I heard about the release. I enjoy Cruise quite a bit but often more so when he shares the screen well with someone.Ensign9 wrote:It’s great but is completely contingent upon Tom Cruise dominating almost every frame. Re: Top Gun Maverick
Nitpick: how do you not bring Rick Rossovich (Slider) back, and maybe some of the other pilots from ‘86, for the funeral?

Seeing this tonight with my wife. This will be the first time we've gone out together without the kids since.....

Re: Top Gun Maverick
I liked it. Didn't care for how heavily it leaned on the first one, but it was a tight little movie that didn't waste time with bullshit. Cruise is an action movie artist.
funny how they never name the enemy they are fighting. At least it wasn't North Korea again.

Re: Top Gun Maverick
The movie felt timid, in a way. Nervous to be too much of, or too direct about, anything. It was better made than a lot of stuff that makes a billion dollars, though.BurtReynolds wrote:funny how they never name the enemy they are fighting. At least it wasn't North Korea again.

Re: Top Gun Maverick
Huh? There is nothing about this movie I would describe as timid. It's not interested in who the enemy is because it's fully beside the point
