Well I guess we could try and address our porous border and then go from there.
In the meantime all of the people with no kids should probably tell parents who are worried about their kids and talking about moving to a different country should just not because those countries with their gun laws have one singular instance of a mass shooting while here in the US it happens regularly. And why? Because that same person is telling you we shouldn’t do anything about the guns because it’s pointless.

So your argument is that since you can't buy guns easily in Mexico that it would be hard for bad hombres to get them across the southern border if suddenly the situation changed here?
Uh, yes, exactly. Lax US gun laws are currently providing Mexican cartels with a significant percentage of their weaponry. If this were to change, Mexican drug cartels would certainly figure out a way to get their guns from somewhere else (probably the CIA lol). They might even start trafficking some of those guns north of the border, if it was lucrative enough. Do you think your average homicidal teenager is going to be able to cultivate connections with Mexican drug cartels? That this is basically the same thing as strolling into the Walmart or ordering a gun online with a credit card?
A land border does not present a significant challenge to increased US gun regulation.

To be fair, what verb is saying is that we have a land border where they could come in if we banned assault rifles. Not that they are coming in now. Where i hard disagree with him is that because they “could” means that we’ll never reduce gun violence because of it. Just because something could happen is not a reason to not take action
