Nice, you're in for a good one, I've seen them about 4 times now with Duvall and they never disappoint. Hell even the newer songs that never really hit a chord with me on the album (like Acid Bubble or something), really come alive in a live setting--Jerry just lets loose more. I got into a huge AIC kick earlier this year before the Mad Season re-release.

Yeah I really can't say any of the new album is 'bad,' just seems very repetitive or something, like they're trying to hard sometimes to channel their old 90s sound. That coupled with the terrible production issues left me really underwhelmed. Side note though, for whatever reason I really think Breath on a Window kicks ass, even though ppl say it's a recycled version of Lessons Learned. If that's true, I def prefer Breath more cause I found LL generic as hell.

Acid Bubble rules...and yeah BOAW sounds very similar to Lesson Learned...but they are both good.
The new album...i listened to Dirt and the new one back to back, and it surprised me on how most of the songs from TDPDH could be from Dirt..they sound very, very similar in their sound approach.
But the production ruins everything for me.

Most of the pro shots from their festivals..rock in rio is the last one that has surfaced...is basically a hits show but they also play some cool songs from the last albums.

Layne´s vocals in Facelift were so strong...To listen to him singing like this and then the Tripod album is heartbreaking.

Shame In You, in particular, always felt really sad to me, like he sounded defeated. I love that song though and the outro is one of the best one in their catalog.

Sunshine has always been ridiculously underrated from Facelift.

Anyway, the show was great..At first, the sound wasnt very good and i was listening more coming from the crowd than the band itself; but luckily that changed over the night.
Really good setlist, a good mix between the classic albums and the last one, although we got just one song from BGWTB..they could have played a little longer and add some songs from that album.
Let me say this; Sean and Mike are fucking gods...Sean is out of his mind. He is singing, smoking, dancing, talking with the crowd, all of this while he plays those huge fucking drums. Mike too, never stopped smiling and laughing all night. And both of them are a very very tight unit.
Duvall puts a hell of a show...i feel sorry for the guy, because Layne`s ghost is always going to be there, but he is a true frontman. Sings very well, great crowd interaction and he is a very good guitar player...he even did a cool solo, i think in Got me wrong.
As for Jerry, i loved his low key presence, told a few things between songs and just stood there and played...and its true that guy might be the best guitar player from his generation...the Nutshell solo was fucking great.
Highlight of the night: Phantom Limb...never felt so scared of music.

That's awesome man, I knew they wouldn't disappoint. Only two new songs in this setlist and it's pretty badass that one of those is the best song from TDPDH, Phantom Limb. I definitely want to catch that song live, I'm sure it's a monster. When I saw AIC with Duvall for the first time back in 2006 or something in Baltimore, I got to meet Mike at the bar before their set. He's just like a regular dude, really down to earth and funny as hell.

Phantom Limb was out of this world. The whole band seemed very into the songs...Jerry and Sean looking at each other; Mike was near too...William killed it. Great, great performance.
Also, God am...thanks, thanks, thanks...even if i didnt get Grind or Heaven Beside You, that song is equally awesome.

My only complaint is that the whole show felt too short. But this AIC is awesome.

By the way, i have been listening to TDPDH since then. Cant stop listening to it. ( also, downloaded a flac version, sounds better)
