In a report released Thursday titled Race and Hispanic Origin of Victims and Offenders, 2012-2015, the DOJ’s Bureau of Justice Statistics found that a majority of most violent crimes are committed by people who are the same race as their victims. Indeed, the rate of white-on-white violent crime, it found, is about four times the rate of black-on-white crime.

Mac's most likely parroting some numbers handed down from American Renaissance or some other far-right conservative group, the kind that wildly manipulates data to fit pre-formed conclusions about race and behavior.

That seems like the type of stat that would lead one to state something like Mac did.

I’d say the takeaway is that we’re more similar to poorer countries than what we consider the “western world” when it comes to gun violence.
