There is a baboon in me . . . clambering-clawed . . . dog-faced . . . yawping a galoot's hunger . . . hairy under the armpits . . . here are the hawk-eyed hankering men . . . here are the blonde and blue-eyed women . . . here they hide curled asleep waiting . . . ready to snarl and kill . . . ready to sing and give milk . . . waiting—I keep the baboon because the wilderness says so.

There is an eagle in me and a mockingbird . . . and the eagle flies among the Rocky Mountains of my dreams and fights among the Sierra crags of what I want . . . and the mockingbird warbles in the early forenoon before the dew is gone, warbles in the underbrush of my Chattanoogas of hope, gushes over the blue Ozark foothills of my wishes—And I got the eagle and the mockingbird from the wilderness.

i interrupted my future wife constantly when we first started dating. One time, in the company of other people, she said very jovially "hey! let ME talk!" It was so cute, and very kind, and it basically corrected me of the habit on the spot.

I do this. Current alarm set to 7:32

I think I only do half-hour increments. I don't remember ever setting it to 7:35 or 7:37 or anything like that. It's either 7 or 7:30.

I also don't set 5+ alarms like I've seen people talk about doing

5 minute increments is all I use. I am a 5 a.m. guy for work. Tonight, I am setting the alarm for the last time until late August. Teaching can be rough, but summer is incredible.

The snooze button on my clock radio as a teenager was 7 minutes. So I would set my alarm for 6:53 so I could hit it once and wake up at 7:00. Just stuck with me I suppose.

I’m sure those dudes have their AR-15’s to protect them from all of the black people shooting at them so they probably aren’t completely miserable
