“Barry” on HBO has everything this show is missing. I’m going to stop shitting on Obi-Wan after this as it’s beating a dead horse at this point. I just want to point out what truly exceptional technical and creative execution can do even when the plot choices may be suspect.
Use your B squad on a new one-off Star Wars property if you’re desperate for streaming content, Disney. Stop fucking around with what should be your prestige tent poles.

I genuinely don't mean this to be snarky or dismissive or anything like that -- I respect the hell out of you and I've often loved your takes on TV shows in the past. But why are you continuing to watch the series at this point? It seems like it's not offering you anything of value. I'm curious what's keeping you going.
No worries. I'm a die hard Star Wars fan that's used to consuming any and all of its onscreen content. I keep waiting for some great moments to come out of this as if the creative crew will suddenly get their heads out of their asses. It's just inexplicable to me that they screwed up what should've been a slam dunk this badly.
Ultimately, I vent about it here because, for better or worse, the Internet is a good outlet for it. Yelling this stuff at my dog isn't as effective. She keeps leaving the room.

I liked this episode, but it wouldn't be an episode of this show if there wasn't some CGI to pick at.
Anakin looked a little old, which wasn't a big deal, but his voice was WAY off.
Every room of that hangar was noticeably the exact size of the Volume.
Vader pulling down the ship looked a little like kids holding a model ship on a popsicle stick.

This was a fantastic episode. This show really his gutting me in the best possible way. Other than some vfx it's everything I was hoping it would be.
And the Anakin in me just can't help feeling some cocky joy about seeing Reva's motivations back at the start. Actually, thematically, that helped the flashback register with me in a fun, special way.
