Palpatine once again playing the great puppet master. He knows he has to contain and control all of Vader. Can't have him thinking about Kenobi or the past. Any small obsessions like that keep him from being fully enslaved to Palpatine.

I’ve noticed that too. It’s fine if you’re watching in a dark room. But I had to close blinds n everything. It was incredibly dark otherwise to the point of being unwatchable
Yess. I will rewatch when it’s darker. Not today, but later.

Same. The whole series has been super dark. I've watched each ep at sunrise (basically) with the curtain shut and I'm still right on top of the TV so I don't miss anything. But I've done rewatches at night and it's been much better.

Why didn’t Vader’s ship send out Tie fighters to take out the rebel ship?
All part of the charm of this illogical magical epic lovely thing called Star Wars!

Very happy with the show overall, and a very strong final episode. The scene between Anakin and Obi-Wan was something else. Really great and emotional.

For those who were worried about too much retconning and how it changes the OT specifically, how are y'all feeling now that it's wrapped up? Does it still bug you? Did their explanations and patches help at all?

I kept waiting for it. I was wondering if it was going to happen when he finally talked to Qui-Gonn. But talking to Luke was perfection.

It would have killed the scene (or at least taken folks out of it) but I wanted Vader to mention it when Kenobi was in that pit so bad!

The main lines of dialogue from the first movie I was most concerned about were Vader’s “We meet again at last.” And “when I left you, I was but the learner, now I am the master.”

For the former it kinda takes away from it being such a long time since they met, but really the Prequels had already castrated it anyway.

For the latter, this series doesn’t really change it all. Maybe even reinforces it. Anakin left Obi-Wan when he gave in to the Dark Side and his proclamation to Kenobi saying he, Vader, killed Anakin just emphasized it. (I also think that line was specifically added so it would line up with what OW tells Luke in the original movie.)

And it didn’t really change anything with what Ben told Luke later. Everything that came after that movie has already done that.

Guys, I am so happy for Jorge that we got to hear Vader's voice without the modulator.

It kept going back and forth and even combined sometimes. That was wonderful.

Anybody else notice Obi-Wan called him “Darth” when he walked away from him?

“Only a master of evil, Darth.”

This has been one of the big issues on Vader and Anakin being the same person. Obviously they weren’t originally intended to be but with this inclusion, maybe he just doesn’t know it’s a title and actually thinks it’s his name. Or maybe he’s just fucking with him. Or maybe Disney’s just fucking with us. Who knows? I did like that it was included, tho.

I did want to hear him say “evil” so we could hear him say it like Guiness did.
