That movie bugged me. I really didn't care for it. Though it has some wonderful visuals.

Watched "Pets United" with the kids this weekend. Might be the first time I've actively disliked a children's movie.

I love The Devil's Backbone, Blade II, and The Shape of Water. I think those are all wonderful. Pan's is the only one of his movies I've seen that doesn't work for me.

The more I think about this, the more I liked it, beyond simply the aesthetics.

I like how it doesn't remotely attempt to deliberately subvert expectations or draw in endless shades of grey.

It's all played very sincere and straight.

Man, that was a really great movie.

I watched Cockfight on my flight home. I was a little self conscious during the cockfighting scenes, but it was an enjoyable watch.

As usual the book was a lot better, but it was an interesting watch. They really struggled with consistent room tone lol.

Yes, I think my phone must have autocorrected it on me.

I'm hoping this book comes out some time soon - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cockfight#/

I'd also love to get my hands on a copy of Cockfighter Journal by Charles Willeford, but it's out of print and the only copies available are very expensive.

The visuals are outstanding and really stick with me, but the story just isn't very intriguing and I got bored several times throughout. Also I guess I'm not a huge fan of Gosling's performance.

Just saw this and it's outstanding! I goddamn loved every minute of it. Seriously, this is the best film I've seen so far this year.

Thank you again, Jorge, for the heads up.
