It became hilariously stupid in 1983 when George decided that Luke and Leia were sisters.B wrote:"That boy is our only hope."

No. It survived until we found out that ObiWan was present at their birth.lecherouslittlestump wrote:It became hilariously stupid in 1983 when George decided that Luke and Leia were sisters.B wrote:"That boy is our only hope."

I think SW got lucky with the two retcons in ESB/ROTJ. You only had three films, and nothing was too fleshed out, so it worked.
Now, the universe gets expanded, and funny enough, it constricts all the characters/plots into a muddled mess. The continuity is messed up beyond repair.

The way to fix it is to use AI to add another line by Alec Guiness saying "Oh, right."B wrote:"That boy is our only hope."

I need to go back in and review all the heartfelt scenes between OB1 and Leia in this series to fully absorb the impact of him completely forgetting her, despite watching a recording of her just one movie ago.Jorge wrote:The way to fix it is to use AI to add another line by Alec Guiness saying "Oh, right."B wrote:"That boy is our only hope."

But in this series, he didn't necessarily know she was force sensitive, right? So the "there is another" could be a surprise to him

He didn't know either way, so how could he have dismissed Leia as a possibility?E.H. Ruddock wrote:But in this series, he didn't necessarily know she was force sensitive, right? So the "there is another" could be a surprise to him

They wanted Leia in here somehow, and they were going to do it, canon be damned!

It’s not like he was sitting around thinking all day about whether or not a kid he last saw 15 years ago might be force sensitive.B wrote:He didn't know either way, so how could he have dismissed Leia as a possibility?E.H. Oh c'mon! He watched the "OB1, you're my only hope." video and didn't think about her AT ALL?E.H.
