were the Chitaruri from the comics? or was this just something created for the film?Peeps wrote:lowlight79 wrote:This is where I am confused on why Ultron is the villian in Avengers 2, Where does he fit in? The infinity gauntlet series was really good
in the books the Collector is an elder of the universe. each one honed one specific trait/ability to them being the best at it. there is a gardner, a fighter, the collector etc...
im sure in the movies it will be implied that the Collector is working for thanos on locating the gems
see, i like that. it has a crossover feel to it. a little sense of what is to come. thanos was probably using the Chitaruri to try to locate one of the gems (he probably has one in his possession already) and knew earth had one (terrasect).
age of ultron is probably going to be AI jarvis taking over one of starks suits from IM3 that didnt self destruct.

comics you grew up with? nostip wrote:were the Chitaruri from the comics? or was this just something created for the film?
marvel basically has two universes. there is the 616 that the avengers, spiderman, captain america, et al all reside in. probably 10 or so years ago they created a new line of comics that took place in a different universe...the ultimate universe. the chitauri in the ultimate universe and the avengers movie are from this new universe and are the skrulls of the 616.
here they basically updated their hero's to a more proper time frame (cept capt...still a wwII veteran). in this universe mutants are the result of humans trying to recreate the supersoldier serum capt ingested. The hulk is created by a strain of the SuperSoldier Serum. Tony Stark is a young man who uses his armor to get laid and become even richer and more popular.
it is a very well received line of comics, both art wise and writting.
the current marvel movies all take bits and pieces from the ultimate universe (since it is more recent) but still use some aspects of the regular (616) universe. for the most part though just assume the source material is from the ultimate line.
