And not just because of increased salaries, but because they’ll sit for 10-15 games a year to “rest.”Bammer wrote:Real soon we’re gonna see guys making $1M per game

Re: NBA Thread
Idk if they'll do it but in the next CBA I think they need to somewhat dramatically increase the minimum salaries. I don't know to fix it, but NBA salaries are in such a weird place. Either you're a max guy getting $35m+ a year, you're a decent player who's young enough to be worth a 3 or 4 year deal for like $15-20m a year, or you're pretty much a minimum guy.

MLB and NFL contracts are kind of like that right now too.4/5 wrote:Idk if they'll do it but in the next CBA I think they need to somewhat dramatically increase the minimum salaries. I agree. They need to shave some off that top end to spread the love around. And seriously, are any of the supermax guys going to miss a few million a year?

I don't know how I feel about giving up Brown, Smart, etc. and picks. I guess it's a win-now mentality so you kinda have to go for it if you are Brad Stevens. Brown is gone after two years, so there's that, too.

This feels like the first KD trade that could actually happen. I feel like the Nets will just keep raising their ask. If Boston is willing to include Smart, then they'll demand Robert Williams, too. I will give credit to the local media, including sports radio, as they've been saying all along that Boston can offer the best package and so far this appears to be it.4/5 wrote:This feels like the first KD trade that could actually happen. I just worry if that package is too steep a price to pay, but I guess that's why I no longer general manage pro basketball teams for a living. haha.

Guy won multiple championships in high school, college, pros (as a player and two as a coach). Consistently dominated his biggest rival.
And, all his social causes.

Watching Game 6 of the 1963 NBA Finals on NBATV. Not sure a single player knows how to dribble with their non-dominant hand.
